Several people have seen my past
infrared portraiture I have done and have commented that they would like
to hire me for a session of their own.
I am pleased to announce that I am now doing session IR photography for
hire. If you are interested in a session, please contact me as far in
advance as possible to give me plenty of prior notice and avoid
scheduling conflicts.
The location where we shoot is entirely up to you the patron! A couple
hints – beaches, deserts, rock-covered shorelines, old cemeteries,
forests and mountain landscapes all make for very striking back drops in
IR photography.
My philosophy for taking portrait photos is the same as it is for
paranormal photography – take lots and lots of exposures! During our
session, we’ll take literally hundreds of exposures. Upon the conclusion
of our session, I will mail you CD-ROMs containing all the images we
acquired during our session. Look them over, find your favorite image
and I will send it to you in a 13” x 19” print, retouched, matted,
framed and signed by me at no additional charge!
My session pricing terms are $500 for up to five hours. If I am required
to travel to the session, you agree to pay my round trip airfare,
transportation and hotel accommodations as well. If we will be shooting
your session outdoors, I highly recommend factoring in at least one
“rain date” when making travel arrangements for me in the event we
experience inclement weather conditions that are not conducive to our
session. As I do not control the weather, there are no refunds given for
less than favorable conditions, though I will attempt postpone and
reschedule for another date if travel and accommodations are paid for.
Unlike other photographers’ terms, we share dual copyright of images
taken during your session. Many other photographers want you to pay
exuberant additional fees beyond your sitting fees to “buy them out” if
you require copyright ownership or distribution rights. I’ve always
thought these terms were unfair. Since you are the patron (and subject)
of these images, I see no reason you shouldn’t share the copyright as
well and be able to distribute and copy the images as you see fit, so
long as they are not sold, published or redistributed for profit.
Likewise, I will not redistribute or publish any of your session images
without consulting with you first.
